This study put forward a suitable technique of extracting iodine from the leaching brine of salt-floodedSaccharinajaponica, to meet the requirement of the production of extracting iodine in the coastal kelp farms. This technique was less expensive, simple equipment requirement, and did not affect the consumption ofS. japonicaas food. Moreover, there is no backlog of alginate and mannitol problems in the technique. The technique was widely promoted to coastal farms in Wendeng city, Weihai city and three counties of Jiaonan city successively.
