Recently, Guangdong Provincial aquatic animal health inspection and quarantine staff rotation training class, sponsored by the Guangdong Provincial Aquatic Animal Disease Control Center, was held in Guangzhou. Experts from the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute, including senior scientist Huang Jie and Zhang Qingli gave classes and lectures at the rotation training courses. More than 100 people participated in the training courses, including leaders and staff from the Guangdong Province Fisheries Technology Extension and Experimental Station.
During the courses, Huang Jie and Zhang Qingli taught the trainees of shrimp aquaculture biosecurity principles and technology, aquaculture pathogen detection technology and on-site rapid detection kit and other related topics. They also demonstrated how to use the in-situ rapid, high-sensitivity detection kit developed by YSFRI, and provided guidance to all the students for operating the test kits. Through this training, the participants further enhanced their understanding of the principles of shrimp biosecurity, improved their level of expertise on major diseases diagnostic methods and on-site rapid detection techniques.
The training courses have been highly valued by the leadership of the Guangdong Provincial Aquatic Animal Disease Control Center, and have played a guiding role in improving the capacity for shrimp disease prevention and control in Guangdong Province.
